Invitation, January 23,  2010

On behalf of Stichting Bayanihan we would like to invite you to attend an information day/worskshop on “Break the Silence“ (Bespreekbaar maken, Bewustwording en Preventie van Huiselijk Geweld)  on Saturday, 23 January 2010 from 10.00 to
18.00 in Boeg. We will have dinner together after this activity.

 The objective of this information/workshop session is to break the taboo on domestic violence, to be aware what it is all about, let the women know that domestic violence is not normal and that she is not the only one who has landed in this situation. Information helps and encourages women to talk about domestic violence and gets her out of the isolation.

The voorlichters are: Lana Kristine Flores-Jelenjev, Nimfa Halderman-Quiliguen , Shirly van Wijck-Rivera and Rochita Loenen-Ruiz. These Bayanihan “voorlichters” have been trained last May and June last year to conduct an information/workshop session with you on the above topic through some creative form like drawing.  There will also be discussion sessions given.

 These series of information/workshops on domestic violence is Bayanihan’s Utrecht project with the title “Stop! Alle vormen van geweld tegen Filippijnse vrouwen!” sponsored by Dienst Maatschappelijk Ontwikkeling (DMO) Gemeente Utrecht.

 True to the Bayanihan tradition there will be a light supper after the activity for those who would like to join. We would like to request you then to bring a simple dish to be shared. Salu-salo tayo!
